agogo ghana nigeriaForest are bracing themselves for a summer bidding war for Junior Agogo - and are ready to cash in to bolster their summer transfer kitty.

A string of European and Middle Eastern sides have apparantly inquired about the Ghana international since his starring role in the African Cup of Nations.

The Reds had refused to discuss Agogo's future until their fate in League One had been decided. But they may be ready to allow their top scorer to leave now that they have finally secured a return to the Championship.

Forest expect to make a significant profit on the £125,000 they paid Bristol Rovers for the 28-year-old in August, 2006, and any money raised would be added to Colin Calderwood's transfer funds.

Agogo has netted 13 goals this season but his campaign has been hampered by a combination of injury and international call-ups, while Agogo himself has been unsettled by the constant speculation since enhancing his reputation while helping Ghana to the semi-final stage of the tournament in his home country.

And Forest will be happy to sell if they receive a decent offer for the player.

"We have had interest in Junior from several clubs abroad over the past few weeks or so," said chief executive Mark Arthur.

"What we have said to them so far is that we would look at things at the end of the season. We did not want to talk about a players' future until our season was complete. I expect his agent will be a busy man in the summer."

Agogo's agent Saif Rubie says that the player is ready for a new challenge.

"Junior is over the moon to have won promotion with Forest," he said. "And we have a really good relationship with the manager and chief executive.

"But, given his form on the international stage, if the opportunity arose to play at the highest level, I am sure nobody would begrudge him that."
