Nathan TysonNathan Tyson wants to pledge his long-term future to Nottingham Forest - and hopes to be offered a new contract in the next seven days.

The Reds striker is delighted to have played a part in the club's escape from League One and is relishing the prospect of testing himself in the Championship.

But, with one year left on his current deal, the former Reading and Wycombe player hopes his long-term future at the club can be secured before the summer.

"I will see what happens in the next few weeks. I am sure I will be going in to speak to the gaffer about my future," he said. "I have a year left but, if they want to extend my contract, hopefully now is the time to do it.

"I am happy to stay, there is no question about that. I do not want to leave.

"I think there will be talks very soon, it would be nice to get things sorted before I go on holiday.

"The gaffer has said he had a plan A and a plan B for the season - I just hope that I am part of plan A. It is in the hands of the chairman, the gaffer and Mark Arthur now. But I don't want to leave it until Christmas or anything like that, to get things resolved. I want to get it over and done with."
