What can i say about this lovely little stadium. That's actually summed it up in one sentence. It's a nice location, it's got an atmosphere that wouldn't intimidate even the most hardy of agoraphobics. I found myself sitting in the Jarrold stand, between two fairly large middle-aged women, who left me little room, but kept me warm. The atmosphere was odd, it was like everyone had brought their mum along and were slightly worried about raising their voice or swearing in front of them. The lady to the left of me became hysterical when the mascot for the local sponsor 'Mr Mattress' was a person dressed in a costume that made him into a cartoon mattress. Literally 10 minutes of her laughing. After saying no-one was swearing, there was a man at the end of my row, who was Norfolk's equivalent of Father Jack from Craggy Island. Still, it was alright.
Being the 2nd home of the Delia, food is a little different. When i arrived, i wandered about looking for a van that didn't have stalactites of lard hainging off the bottom, and was mildly surprised to find a selection of decent food. I went for a roast pork and apple sauce roll. Very nice.
Inside the ground, the pies are very obviously influenced by the Delia. I had a chicken and mushroom pie, which also boasted asparagus as an ingredient! Bovril was the same as everywhere else, but i don't blame Delia for not changing that.
I popped into the Coach & Horses (i think that's what it was called). The local is well worth a go, unless you just drink lager, in which case, shame on you.
If you do only drink lager, then you're almost better off going into the city centre to one of the bars, of which there are many. It's not a long way to the ground from the city centre, about 15 minutes.
There are no big roads in Norfolk, A11 is the pinnacle of the road system. I once went to Kings Lynn, and it was possibly the longest journey i've ever undertaken, you can probably get to the bloody moon quicker. Anyway, i digress. You want to aim for the Norfolk County Hall, it's a big car park, and i saw supporters from both teams intermingling without any particular unrest. To park it was £3. And there is a path from the middle of the car park, that is fairly direct to the ground (but you'll almost certainly follow everyone else.)
